He said that he likes me as a friend and that he just wants to be friends.Does that mean i will never have a chance to date him or tell him myself that i like him?I didnt tell (r) to ask him but he was talking to (s) about me and popped the question if he liked me.I want to tell him i like him but i dont think i ever can now.........  Just because he is not into you right now, it does not mean that he will not be in the future.
Saying that, for now he has given you the answer and to save embarressement I would give it some time before revisiting the subject again.
Get to know him better first, he may find things about you that he likes then.

 Truely....the boy should ask you. Don't pay attention to the boys who are not going out of their way to pay attention to you.
Because for me.....that old friend line = just not intrested but would not want to hurt your feelings.
See If there is someone who I DO like as a friend....but could Never see myself going out with....I would say I like them as a friend. (that way they are not insulted...and yet don't hold any hopes I will change my mind if they follow me and arange a zillion encounters)
And it doesn't have to have anything to do with "that chicks ugly and I don't like her."
Maybe you remind him of someone like a sister, aunt, grandmother etc. It could be any little silly thing that just is off putting.
Maybe he just feels no chemistry is there. Nothing he can do about it.
it does not mean you will never date him....it means at this time you will not date him. Stay friendly, cheerful and playful without hounding him and next year or the year after....he may see you diffrently.
