Question - (12 January 2010) 3 Answers - (Newest, 13 January 2010)
A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

i think im falling in love with my principal. shes all i ever think about, theres not one day where i dont talk about her and i cant walk by her office without saying hi. She sometimes stops by my cafe. at lunch, i always have to go up and talk to her. even if its just to get attention.. Shes pregnant and im so upset that she'll be leaving in april, i wanted a whole year spent with her but unfortuanately not. I think im jealous of her baby, id love to have her as my mother. And im jealous whenever someone gets called down to her office, and sometimes ill do something stupid just to get in trouble to talk to her, but whenever i do she just rips the refurral up and probably because its me and i think she likes me. but i always question myself if she does, sometimes when shes in a good mood she'll wave to me, talk to me, smile at me. but when shes in a bad mood she rolls her eyes at me, she'll tell me to go to class and it hurts that i try and make her laugh but sometimes it doesnt work. I draw her pictures and she hangs them up in her office. but i dont know i feel like im trying to get close with her, im not sure if im falling for her or if i just love her like a second mother. its not like shes really done anything for me, i feel like she loves all the trouble makers, i try to be one but she just doesnt take me seriously. am i falling for my principal or is she just a mother to me?

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (12 January 2010):

What's happening is that you are stuck in that horrible place between childhood and adult hood.

You have been hit with a MASSIVE dose of hormones. These things are going to make you grow a foot taller, and change your internal organs. They are going to have an affect on your brain.

So you half see her like a child would, and half like an adult would.

We get so many people your age in love with men, women, teachers, trees, tv people.... Over the next year or three you are going to get some insane crushes.

I'll advise you what I advise everyone else:

It's just a rollercoaster ride. You have to try and enjoy the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and just know that it's all crazy sometimes, but it will be different soon.

Enjoy the ride!

Good Luck!! xx

Neither. If this is true, you simply have a crush on her.

No.

Big.

Deal.

I went through the same thing (though not quite to that extent) with my 6th-8th grade gym teacher, but fortunately I knew it was just a crush. Nothing to worry about.....just fun, knowing that you can be oh so attracted to someone, infatuated with them, but with NO strings attached and NO worries about trying to get them to like you in a sexual way.

As long as you realize that she won't EVER be in a relationship with you and that she would end up in prison if she tried anything whatsoever, it's all fun and games! Don't sweat it! You just have a crush on your principal! No worries :)
