She is smart , funny and charming young women. She is now in college. I am 22. We had a thing when she was 13 and I was 17 just talking and I kissed her . Her brother found out because she had sent me a picture and he was looking at pictures on my phone . He blamed his sister for being "slut". He didn't ask me if I started it . Her brother doesn't understand her and they don't have a good relationship. When her mother and father found out they were happy that she was talking to me and they trusted me with her. Now, most recently she asked me to study with her. She bought pizza and we hung out in the living room of her house . It was her and her cousin. Her cousin lives with her but he was upstairs. Anyway I hung out with her until 4:30am ( her parents were out of town and her brother is moved out ) I had slept with her ( just sleeping ) she is the most beautiful creature I have ever slept with . The next morning I didn't feel bad and neither did she . Now we both agreed to stop because it's too risky and she doesn't want to jeopardize the friendship between me and her brother ( even though she doesn't like her brother ) point being is I can't get her off my mind ! I want her and have wanted her for 13 years now ( I have know her since she was 4) What should I do her brother is like family but I love her so much that I don't know what to do ?

reader, anonymous, writes (27 March 2012): It is not absolute that you will go to jail if you have sex with her. There is a law that determines what age both of ya'll have to be. Whatever state you live in, go to google and search "Age of Consent Law" for your state. Each state has a certain age that people have to be for sex to be legal. In most states it is 16, but some go up to 18 years old. Also, try finding the age difference requirement for your state. My brothers did that when they found out who I was in a relationship with. I have a brother and 3 stepbrothers, all grown (youngest 23, oldest 29), and the 3 stepbrothers are notorious for fighting. When they found out that I had dated someone close to their age, the oldest one threatened to "beat the hell out of him for touching my little sister". And the guy I had dated happened to be my actual brother's former bestfriend, they became really close friends as soon as they met in about 2005, when I was 10. Who would've thought a few years later I'd be in love with that man? Crazy.. Now I've been dating a 23 year old for almost a year and a half (yesterday was 1 yr, 4 months), and about 2 months after we started dating I finally told my brother who I was dating, only because my brother was coming to my house to visit and my boyfriend was on the way to my house from work :O. I was terrified! My brother came over and made my boyfriend go outside with him so they could "talk", which was also a little ackward because of the fact that they were the same age, and because my boyfriend is a little taller and definitely bigger than my brother, lol.  First off, and you will hear this from many other AA's: She is not yet legal. She is 17. You are 22. What happens if you "consummate" or seal the deal and have sex or get her pregnant? YOU will be imprisoned for RAPE. That is the law. Not trying to scare you (much) but you need to be patient, keep the relationship chaste until she turns 18. If you both are wanting to have sex, you MUST get permission from both of her parents. That is the ONLY way you will not be arrested for having sex with someone under age 18, which is legally known as Statutory Rape.That being said, you can have a loving, lasting relationship without having sex. Explain to her the consequences for you, the 22 year old. Sit down and openly, honestly, calmly explain your feelings for this girl to HER PARENTS and YOUR PARENTS. Listen to both sets of parents.Her brother is being very protective. That's what brothers do. If possible, involve him in the discussion when you speak to the girl's parents. Make it civil, somber, and sincere. You do not need to propose marriage or anything like that. You simply need to get permission from the girl's parents to date her and possibly become intimate with her.Once you have that approval, be prepared. She should get on the pill - if she is not already. You should have condoms ready in advance for the safety of both of you, regardless of having sex or not. If you do become intimate, being prepared and responsible will make the parents secure in their trust of you and their own daughter.The brother must understand if his parents approve of your relationship. He will not be losing a "virgin" sister, but gaining a trusted confidant in YOU.
