A female reader, Anastasia Trinidad and Tobago +, writes (4 June 2011):

Anastasia agony auntHello,

I think that you should let this take its natural course. You both see each other a great deal in school and chat on FB and such. You have tried asking her out a few times....I admire your courage, but she has not been able to give you a straight answer...so just be friends for now. She might be a super shy person, or just unsure of how quickly she wants your friendship to move. Maybe she is concerned that if she goes out with you that it will ruin your friendship....similar to the concerns that you have.

I say just hang tight for a bit, enjoy the friendship, don't push anything and see where it goes.

Hope that helps.
