If he's interested, he'll ask me out again, right?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I went out with a guy this past Sunday. Tonight he asked me if I wanted to go to this place tomorrow with him in the day time, but I can't because I have to work. So I texted him something like "stuck at work till 8..would definately go with you another time though." Do you guys think that he will try to ask me out again? Did I sound interested enough?

A reader, anonymous, writes (11 July 2009):

Why not text him and let him know a day when you're free and ask him if he'd like to meet up on that day?

You were very clear you'd like to meet him again, so why not back those words up with actions?

Is there a rule where you are from that says that the guy has to make all the moves?

Personally when I get a text like the one you sent him, I wait for the girl to contact me to let me know when she's free. Believe it or not I've dated girls that have told me lots of times they'd like to see me again but were always busy when I tried to arrange another meeting and they made no effort to contact me to inform me of their availability.

My current girlfriend was different, she'd not only tell me was interested in meeting up again but would tell me when she'd be available. You can wait anxiously, hoping he will call or you can make the move and know for certain.

Yes, that was a good answer to give him. If you just said, "no, have to work" then that might put him off. But adding in that you would "definitely go another time" would let him know that you're interested in seeing him, you just can't on that day.
