I am now going into year 11, and my closest friends still believe this lie. They are also getting close to my cousen, going out with her without me. I am really scared that they are going to find out that the lie is not true. I would loose all my friends and cousen. Please help, is there anything i can do? Reply to this Question |

Your friends and your cousin care about you. You aren't saying what the lie is, but as it was so long ago it shouldn't matter. People are often awkward and afraid and that makes us say and do stupid things we regret. You are young, but not too young to understand this. Don't sell your friends and family short. Pull your cousin aside, as that's the one person you should know that you can't ever really lose because you are family. Tell her how terrible you feel about this big lie you told as a kid and ask for her help and forgiveness. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes.

I wouldn't worry about it so much; whatever the lie, it's not the end of the world.
After year 11 you may probably never see many of them again as some will go college, others will get jobs etc. so it doesn't really matter if they find out.
And anyway, they probably won't care; we know what teenagers are like.
Don't worry about it.
