k_c100 agony auntWell the birth control shot works by making your body think it is pregnant - hence it does not release an egg therefore you cannot get pregnant whilst you are taking it. Most doctors say that it can take 6 months, maybe longer to get pregnant once you come off birth control because there are still traces of the hormones in your system.

This may explain why you "feel" pregnant - it may just be left over hormones from the birth control, especially if you have only recently stopped taking it.

Be patient and in time you will get what you want, just give your body some time to adjust to being off birth control. And dont take a pregnancy test until you have missed your period. In the mean time, make sure you and your boyfriend are prepared for the huge life changing experience that is having a baby.

Good luck!

Do some research into the shot. It can take up to a year for your periods to return after stopping it, so it may be unlikely that you will get pregnant soon.

That's too early to test. Usually these tests only show up a few days after your missed period.

when was your last period? don't test to early because you will just stress to much and you could be pregnant and cause your mind to think your not and have a miscarriage..it's possible.
