hi, How much weight will I lose by Easter Sunday if I do one hour on the treadmill a day at 6km per hour, and eat one apple everyday and nothing else. I'm 5 ft 3 and 9 and a half stone, so I really want to shed the pounds. Also, what would be the ideal weight for me to get to?

Hello, I dont want to be a nag cause I know exactly where your comeing from. I have been finding myself thinking this way often also. But at the thought of the permanent damage that will be done, I have to stop myself and say, is my weight issue realy whats making me unhappy? Though my weight doesnt help matters much I know deep dowm that im struggleing with much more hurtfull issues, like the way my boyfriend for instance can make me feel so unatracive. So lift your head up high and use your hurt for determination. Your depression will fade dramatically in just a matter of a few days of eating the right food and the right portion sizes, also your energy will increase and you will have so much more indurence to burn more calories and build that body you want much much faster. Take time to yourself each day to do your hair and makeup, paint your nails, stand up strait and hold your head up high. And remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. After doing these things your mind will be clearer and I pray you can start to regain the confidence that for whatever reason has been lost.

Honey, do not torture yourself. Be happy with the way you are. Losing weight for easter is this about the chocolate you eat at easter? I mean easter is a christian tradition and is about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ not how skinny you are. Eating an apple a day and exercising vigorously sounds like you have some annorexic thoughts entering your mind. Honey, if you want to lose weight then seriously set yourself an achievable goal. Not I have to lose 10 kilos in 2 weeks. Impossible. Do not be so hard on yourself. Think of the people in wheelchairs,or people missing limbs. They would love to have your able body so instead of focusing on weight and an unachievable goal focus on personal fitness. ie mental strength and physical strength. A healthy diet and exercise forms the only safe way to lose weight. It upsets me that teenage girls are so focused on what they look like instead of valuing themselves as beautiful young women. You will wreck your menstrual cycle. Mate these issues of weight obssession were issues when I was a teenager 20 years ago. Have we not learnt anything in 20 years. It seems to be getting worse. Darling do not be a slave to this image of stick thin is best. Mate just being you is important.

Walking or running will burn 100 calories per mile.

It takes 3,600 calories to equal one pound.

If you starve yourself (one apple per day) your metabolism will drop and you will burn fewer calories per day.

If you build muscle your body will need to burn more calories per day.

Eat healthy.

Work out.

Girls don't bulk up with muscles when they weight train-they only tone up and lose fat.

Why do you want to be rapididly shedding pounds at your age?

At 5ft 3 anywhere between 8st and 10st is within your healthy weight range so you are perfect, smack bang in the middle of your range.

Take care not to become obsessed with weight, also be very careful what methods you chose if you are determined to do so.

The treadmill wont hurt you, it will keep your heart healthy and tone your body as well as burning off any excess energy but One apple a day is nowhere near enough calories for you to stay healthy, infact that would just be stupid. The best kind of diet is normal healthy balanced meals at least 2 times a day and NEVER skip breakfast even if you only have a piece if fruit, this is the meal that kick starts your metabolism in the mornings and therefore allows you to burn off or effectively use the other foods you eat in the day.

you will loose quite a lot, but feel very weak and when you start eating the normal amount after you have finised dieting the pounds will pile on, or in my case, you'll be even bigger than you were before!! though i find the best diet to loose weight is the cayenne pepper diet, the one beyonce lost 20 pounds in 14 days on. you mix a tad of cayenne pepper, with a teaspoon full of maple syrup, and a teasppon full of lemon juice, in a small glass of water, drink this for a week or so, i lost 2 pound the first day!! although results can vary! good luck!! xxxx

If you want to shed some pounds and keep off what you take off i can tell you. I have some experience in the matter. First what your doing will get you fast results but for sure will catch up to you.

You want to lose the weight and KEEP it off. Then learn good eating habits, if you cut out foods all together your going to crash and burn at some point. You need to eat healthy snacks every 2hours and do at least 30min of cardio every day. If you are 5'3 my guess is you should be around 115. Good luck and i hope you consider changing your diet.

One thing that will happen if you go on an extreme diet like that is that your body will react badly. It will go into starvation mode. This means that as soon as you start eating again your body will turn everything straight into fat because it thinks you might face starvation again. You will put all the weight you lost back on again and more.

The best way to lose weight is to eat lots of low fat things. Porrage, special K, these will fill you up without giving you extra calories. Eat a big breakfast.

Do GENTLE jogging on the treadmill, and drink lots of water to flush your system through.

As I say, you may just want to tone up. I know that I don't need to diet, but I do need to walk more to get rid of my slightly wobbly bum. So I am parking my car at the far end of the road and walking to it every morning.

Get a new hair cut, buy a new outfit. Love yourself and don't worry too much about weight. At 9 stone I really don't think you have a lot to worry about.

One last thing - I've just noticed you are in your early teens. You will put on weight because you are growing up, you are growing boobs and hips and becoming a gorgeous woman. You can't stay the same weight you were when you are 12 unless you stay 12 forever.
