writes:I have been with my boyfriend 3 months, and his birthday is coming up in a few weeks.I want to do something special for him, but I'm on quite a strict budget at the moment, so I'm not going to be spending hundreds.Does anyone have any ideas of somehting personal and unique I could buy or make for him?  I usually bake for my friends and family on their birthdays. I too cannot spend a lot of money for celebrations, but for 10 pound you could make him an interesting sweet, like baklava, or his favorite kind of cookie. Make a bunch and surprise him at his work. Not only will he be a hit for having sweets brought in, but you will be praised for being so unique.
Or find cupcake designs on the web and make a bunch for him. Maybe pick a sports theme and decorate the tops like all the different sports balls Or if he has a fav team, decorate them in those colors.
another really easy goody is to dip pretzle sticks (the super large ones) in melted chocolate, them roll them in crushed cookies or candy bars, or sprinkles. The sweet and salty from the pretzle and chocolate is super yummy!

Make him a Birthday cake! Find something he likes and decorate the cake with that theme. I did it for a friend and for my brother and they both loved the cakes.
