Hello,

I was wondering, my soon to be hubby says "I love you" and I love him too, but is there a difference between saying "I love you" versus "I'm in love with you"? Don't get me wrong, but we both love each other, however, I was told by a gf that saying "I'm in love with you" is worth more meaningful than just saying "I love you". I say not. My man does love me and shows it in every way. I don't get flowers and he's not that romantic but he shows it in other ways that are loving and caring in his own ways. Any advice is very helpful! Thanks again!

Hello and good day!

Thank you so much for your advice and tips. I do love my fiancee and I tell him every time we're together. I know he loves me cause he lets me know. It's how we feel inside and when we're together or when we're apart....we are very much in love with the other. Just being with him and holding hands with him....all that matters is knowing that there is between us.

Thank you again!

In norwegian there are two different words for "falling in love" and "love" (loosly translated the "falling in love" is "pre-love", but I guess it has more meanings).

Personally I like the saying "you don't really know if you love someone before you have falling out of love with them" (that is, when the initial feeling of "falling in love" has worn of).

I do not like the saying "love makes blind". The "falling in love"-emotion makes you blind from your partners faults. If you love someone, however, then you are aware of your partners faults but still love him/her...

For me the "I'm in love with you" sounds like "fall in love", but I don't know if you should pay any attention to what words he chooses. His meaning of "I love you" may be much, much stronger that another person that says "I love you" or "I'm in love with you".

As long as you two are happy, you can say it any way you like.

Odds agony auntThe only time men even notice the difference is when women say, "I love you, but I'm not in love with you," which guys view as a B.S. excuse anyway. In other words, doom and gloom.

Don't worry about the distinction unless you're splitting up. Just tell him how you feel and he'll be happy.

He says he loves you, shows he loves you and is going to marry you, so try not to worry about words!

largentsgirl89 agony aunti think it depends on your views on that. I'm in love with my bf but I don't say, "hey baby, I'm in love with you." I tell him I love him.

If I tell a friend I love him/her, then I do love him or her, but I am not in love with that person. I don't think its more meaningful to say I'm in love with you if you are dating someone, that is already implied because if you weren't in love with them then they would only be a friend.
