Question - (7 November 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 7 November 2010)
A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

I love him! But he loves her... How do I let him know my feelings without being rejected?

I am a sophomore in high school and there is this senior boy I have fallen head over heels for!

I met senior boy last year during cross country last year. It wasn't a love at first sight sort of thing. I was mostly feeling self conscious because I'm bad at sports and was embarrassing myself horribly. So it took awhile, but eventually I found myself looking forward to seeing him at practice. He was really sweet, always encouraging me and sometimes he would even take his shirt of for practice... He has quite the build. ;D

But after cross country we never really got another chance to do anything together. For some reason, however, senior boy continued to wave at me every day when we saw each other in the halls and say hi with his oh-so-dreamy voice. This was when I reeeealy started liking him. I felt so special that he would say hi to me every day. But I figured that senior was two years older than me, extremely attractive and presumably with the popular crowd. (Who only really date among them self's) And I would never have a chance with him.

This last summer he confessed on my facebook that he had a crush me during xc last year. I swear, My skin tingled for days. It was a wonderful feeling. So I messaged back that I liked him too. And we had a few small chats on facebook. Nothing real interesting, but I thought that maybe he was starting to like me a again. But a few weeks ago he started going out with... her.

She really is such a nice girl. I hated her for about an hour before I realized that I really shouldn't... She is not the perfect type that I thought senior boy was after. She isn't athletic, model beautiful or exceedingly popular. We actually have a lot in common. She is a sophomore just like me. She is just. like. me.

So now, even though I now have to deal with their love notes on facebook, I love him more than ever! He continues to say hi to me every day. Im not sure if he knows how crazy it makes me, but it may near be the highlight of my day. I really want to tell him how much I fancy him, and that I want to hang out, but I dont want him to get all defensive because his girlfriend.

-Should I just be brave and tell Guy I still like him? How?

-Would a guy be offended if a girl did this while they were in a relationship?

-Should I wait for him and his girlfriend to break up before I admit anything?

-Should I just forget about him because he will be graduating after this year anyway?

aunt honesty agony auntIts a tough situation you are in, but in fairness you told him you liked him already therefore if he wanted to ask you out he would have done it there and then, i think you might just hurt yourself more by telling him, because he is in a relationship and he might get angry at you for telling him something like that, plus i could almost bet he already knows that you like him he. I think you need to try and forget about this boy and move on before you get anymore hurt.
