 you can't do that to him... even if he is an old friend... you have to move on... take your feelings to another girl... that is not a good thing to do... start socializing with different girls and getting to know them so that you can move on... this is not a good idea at all!!! you and your old best mate could go back to being best mates but you can't go near his girl when you like her... if you had a gf and your best friend had feelings for her... what would you do?? be careful... you should leave her alone... there are many girls out there... you will find one that will make you very happy... but it cannot be her... it is no a smart thing to do... but you have to do what you think is right.. but he will probably hurt you if you do... stay out of it... sorry if i come out a little strong but you have to understand... find another one... you'll do fine!! good luck :) i hope i helped you

I've been in this situation myself, and ended up with the best relationship of my life, so if you think she's the one then go for it, but only if she's single because friendship should come first.
