Advice please?

I only need ONE class to graduate with a Bachelors, and that would be Statistics. This class is kicking my behind not because the material is hard, but the exams are timed short and I simply cannot compute that fast and so I failed the last quiz and probably bombed the exam too so I will fail unless I figure out some primo test taking strategies quick. Any advice?

PS I plan to get married soon but dont think I should unless Bachelors is complete, so no pass Statistics no degree no finding a non dead end job no getting married...so self pressure is on! Please help?

Honeypie agony auntStatistics SUCK! I almost failed the first exam and ended up retaking it to get a better grade ( I barely passed the first time).

FIND a tutor. Use a timer, and go through (however many questions you got on average on the paper).

Have you guys worked with a "statistics tree"?

Knowing that by heart (shoot it's been over 25 years and I still remember it!)

But like Garbo said, don't "look" over old papers - DO questions and equations over and over.

You've probably done what you can in this regard but in the off chance you haven't: Can you use a statistics calculator in the exams? If so, are you allowed to program the formulas? I disliked statistics and have little aptitude or use for that stuff, but I did get thru the course nicely by using my HP 12C calculator to its limit.

Garbo agony auntMath is a function of practice. So before the test, do ALL the problems that have been assigned for that unit at least 10 times over. By doing them, I mean sit in a chair with pencil and grind over and over, noting your speed and accuracy. Don't ever study for math by looking over your work, or talking over it, or reading it. You study math by doing same thing over and over and over, on paper with a pencil, as though you never did it before. That's what I did at the university.
