A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I need help....my ex and I broke up about 2 months ago and a month ago we started talking again. It was great at first. He is very independent.I get anxious if he doesnt respond right away to my voice mail or text message and has told do not do that i hate it! The first couple weeks were great! One time he didnt respond and i have to admit i started over reacting again by texting, and calling repeatly. I am working on this issue and i am making progress. Since that day i repeatly texted him he now goes 3-4 days without making contact. He knows I do not like it when he does that. Im confused does this sound like a "test" or some kind of game/mixed signal or perhaps his way of showing me that he can do what he wants and this is my punishment. He is very sincere, and i do believe he cares, to my knowledge he is not dating anyone. However, i hate it when he does the no contact for 3-4 days and he knows that. I am about to give up should i hang in there? I have stepped back and if he dont respond i know longer keep calling and texting I text one time and then i wait for him to contact me. I am lost and confused. I dont want to get hurt.

Laura1318 agony auntIt is obvious that you are not his priority and he is playing games with you .

Downgrade this relationship to friend's status and let him do the chasing. Ignore him and if he does not contact you , you will have to let him go.

Forget about him and don't text him again. He expects you to be free when he is...f*ck that. Keep yourself busy and when you feel like you're going to text him go and do something.

You don't want to look desperate, a woman who is independent and not needy is more attractive than those who runs around guys.

this might sound harsh but if a guy really and truly likes a girl he will do ANYTHING to get in touch with them.

a trick is to delete him off your phone so you can't contact him even if you wanted to.

Problem.helper agony aunti agree with heather because i done that to a girl once. Because if he cares about you he'll call back and he is ignoring you because noone goes 3 days without checking..

heather108 agony auntYou "started talking again" because his ego needed a boost and your calling repeatedly has no doubt recharged his ego.

Now it's time to throw the player a curve.- Do not call him and when he tries to contact you, be busy, very busy, and put him off for some trivial reason.

I'm betting this will work wonders for your relationship,,, and your own ego.

It can't hurt... ;~)

A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 April 2010):

You don't deserve to be treated like he does not care about you. If he wants to teach you a lesson that can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, then let him. Let him do what he wants alone. Dump him. You're young and there's plenty of fish in the sea. However, you should know that man get weirded out by your hunting them down. It makes them feel trapped. In your next relationship, if your guy goes MIA, don't chase him. Start dating someone else - play the freaking field. If he cares, he'll come after you. But if a guy doesn't call you, it's because he either doesn't give a damn, or he just doesn't want to right then - but will when he gets ready. So either way, show a man that you have your own life. You'll never be happy as long as you stay at home waiting for a man to call you. Live your life.
