writes:I have just fallen for quite a (lucrative for them) SMS scam, like a premium date dating service, but over text. I stopped the service a while ago, and also deleted the numbers and the texts. Meanwhile I found an email I had sent to the company providing the service and a couple of forums saying it is a scam. The only 'evidence' I have got is pictures of 'her' and these forums. Can I get my money back?

reader, anonymous, writes (2 November 2012): You can't, you signed up for it and legally implied consent for them to take your money I bet they have a really nice small print somewhere saying that it's for entertainment purposes only. You paid for a service and unless you can show you didn't get that service then you can't prove it was a scam. For example you signed up for a dating sms thing now unless you can prove that's not what you got you have no complaint because you got pictures and probably some sexy texts, that's what they said they'd give you.
You can't get your money back from a service that no doubt advertises itself as for entertainment purposes.
Op the best place to ask is the forums and users who said it was a scam, surely they have evidence to back up their claims or are they like you, baseless accusations because they're dissatisfied with a shitty sms service thing?
You can't get your money back if you don't even know whether it was a scam or whether you just didn't read the T & C's.
