I totally understand. You will get there in the end! but I know that you don't believe that right now. I passed my fifth test a month ago after learning for nearly three years. I got to feeling incredibly stupid about being a learner - I'm in my forties so many people my age have been driving for more than twenty years.

I found tests very stressful though I'm not a nervous driver - maybe you are the same? being constantly judged made me feel self-conscious. After failing my fourth over something stupid - nerves really - I made a point of gong driving around all the routes with a friend - in the UK you can download them from the website (dvla??). This helped me get the 'scope' of the tests - fast roads, built-up areas etc. It didn't seem so daunting. It also helped my actual test because I'd been there before and there was a particular odd roundabout which didn't throw me because I'd seen it before.

A good instructor helps and plenty of practice. However, if you have failed number of tests all the time being with the same instructor, you might want to try a one-off lesson with someone else for a second opinion. I actually changed instructor and she tightened up some sloppy habits.

Yesterday I drove to a work meeting 60 miles away. I was knackered but it was so great to be able to do. Keep going, good luck. It really got me down too but I did get there in the end - and so can you. Good luck!!!

Don't give up honey, your driving test is something which you can so as many times as you want, eventuallly I came out with a pass and I'm sure you will! xx

P.S They also say the best drivers fail the first few times! I must be a perfect driver Keep your chin up, nothing is impossible to achieve xx
