I feel jealous that he's going to drive a girl to another state

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm feeling a bit insecure. Although, I know my bf loves me dearly but when he told me that a girl he knows is offering him money to drive her to another state and back. Thus meaning he'll be out all day. I get a strange feeling of jealously. Am I being over reacting? Should I tell him how I feel? How can I stop being insecure like this?

My BF and I had a conversation about this type of thing.

We were discussing "things our exes did that upset us".

We both agreed that, because we both tend to be a little on the "jealous side", that we would avoid being alone with a member of the opposite sex for any reason. We agreed: no rides home, no lunch meetings, etc. with anyone (alone) of the opposite sex.

I'm glad we discussed it before it ever became an issue, because it turns out that we would both hate it.

Tell him how you feel... or better yet, go along for the ride and be his company on the way back ;)

My fault, I should say that this had happened two days ago. He ends up not going because he said she found someone else. I know this girl likes my boyfriend from a conversation she had with another friend of ours on facebook. It was a funny chat on his status that they kinna argue over and all I did was watching from behind the scene and she made it clearly known that she had a crush on him.

He didn't tell me at first about the ride. It wasn't until the night before, I told him to go to sleep early because he had stuff to do the next day. That's when he said he's giving her a ride out of state. But then it didn't happen. I know I'm over reacting. But I really want to learn to get rid of this iffy feeling. My ex cheated on me before and it keeps coming back and bites me in the chest.

Thank you for your reply.
