Hi all! Hope y'all are doing good! :)

In a way this isn't a relationship type of question.

But I really have bad acne, I have tried every thing to get rid of it and I don't know what to do to get rid of it. I have an online boyfriend, we are gonna try to see each other soon, but I don't want him to see me with so much acne. Does anybody know what I can use to get rid of it? I've never gotten acne on my back before, and now I'm starting to get it on my back. And I also have no money to buy the very expensive stuff either. I am embarrassed everywhere I go with my acne, but whats weird about it is, I don't care what other people think. I just want to at least get rid of most of my acne before I see my boyfriend in person. So anybody got any advise or know what I could use?

You can just tell him the truth, i ma sure he will understand. What if he is someone who is suffering from bad acne too and feels the same way?You can send him a pic of you so he can decide if he wants to meet you or not. All the best!

I have always had bad skin and the only thing that has cleared it up is not eating any foods containing dairy. Sounds strange, I'm sure, but it's the biggest cause of acne and I had no idea until a few weeks ago. It's a total pain, too, as a ton of stuff has dairy, but I would truly recommend it. My acne has stopped completely. You should give it a shot! And good luck with your BF :D

ah youre exactly like me!! when i was getting ready to see my boyfriend i literally used to sit and cry infront of the mirror on the phone to my friend saying i cant see him looking like this and make up is making my skin look worse!!!

if youre in the uk, get yourself to your gp and let them know that its affecting your social life and your embarrassed to go out with your acne etc. they will take things alot more seriously. they will either prescribe you something in pill form/cream form which could take a couple months to work. or they will forward you to a dermatologist who will prescribe you something a little more stronger.

do some research though so you can have some say on what you would like to go on.

depending on how bad your acne is maybe have a look at roaccutane? this is a drug i researched so much because i had heard alot of reviews etc about it and actually went in asking for it. i was on it for about 4 months and literally within 2 weeks it had cleared and proceeded to clear and for the next 4 months.

do some research and book an appointment. and feel confident when you meet your bf! good luck doll!!! x

lacrymosa_652 agony auntI agree, see a dermatologist for advice if you keep trying products that don't work, you'll get the best advice for treatment from an expert.

Does your boyfriend know what you look like? As in, has he seen a picture of you before or have you met up before? If he already finds you physically attractive, and is then put off by your acne problem, I'd say it's a sign that he isn't a keeper. Physical attraction is important to a certain degree, but then there's also shallowness. Anyway, I hope everything turns out okay.

dmartin89 agony auntWell if you're from the UK there are some good cream etc you can buy for spot prone skin in boots and superdrug but it prob takes a few weeks to work. I don't know what's available in the US.

The only real way to make a difference is to see a dermatologist.

If thus guy likes you then he won't care about the acne, if it bothers him then he isn't the guy you want to be wasting your time with.

shnookims agony auntI don't know where you're from, but where I stay you can go to a family planning clinic and get the pill. it helped me with my acne because it was caused by a hormone imbalance. at the family planning clinic, I do not have to pay a consultation fee, only the price of the actual pill, which compared to most other treatment for acne, was really really cheap. Btw, i used the Yasmin pill.
