I don't like where my life is going and it's making me socially awkward.

Question - (3 November 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 3 November 2008)
A male Canada, anonymous writes:

I’m socially awkward. This is new for me. I overcame my shyness a long time ago and I was really happy and proud of myself but now I’m finishing my second professional degree and I really don’t care for it. I feel like a failure after all this education with my life stalling in an intersection while my peers drive by. I really don’t want to pursue a career in this field and feel ashamed.

I get really anxious running into acquaintances as I dread questions directed at me. Consequently my social interactions are getting more and more awkward.

Any advice?

Everyone feels like this at the end of their degree. You don't know where you are going yet and that is scary.

Get your rolled up scroll and then go travelling or do some volunteer work.

Figure out where in the world you want to be and start working towards getting there.

There is no shame in not having decided your field yet.

Good Luck!! xx
