writes:So basically I want to split up with my boyfriend but I don't know how. I've spoken to a couple of friends about it and they both have very different opinions. One friend thinks I should just it over and done with as soon as possible as I've wanted to do it over a month but didn't do it before because we had exams and yea that's cruel but now she says I have no excuse there's no point in dragging it out. MY other friend says I should wait until the end of the school year because then my excuse could be we're going to different universitys in september so we might aswell end it before the summer begins. I more agree with the first friend because I'm no longer happy in this relationship and I think he can tell anyway so it's hurting both of us but I know he won't do anything about it. Also my other problem is I went through so much to be with him in the first place like almost losing one of my best friends so it seems like such a waste but I can't help how I feel. I thought I loved him but knowing how I feel now it's obvious I don't but I really care about him as a friend and [I know it won't turn out like this] I want things to go back to how they were before because we were good friends before.... Any suggestions?

 Dragging it out will only make things worse. Neither of you are happy, he wont do anything about it, just end it.
It's like a Band aid, you can pull a little bit at a time,watch it pull your hairs out, and it just hurts every little bit of the way. Or, you can just grab it, and give it one big yank, it hurts like hell for a short while, but in no time, it's over! DONE. You can then move on.
Don't worry about his feelings. Worry about yours.
While you're screwing around putting off getting rid of the brick, Mr. right could pass you by, because he thinks you're taken!
