i have fallen out with all of my friends, its awful. the main reason that we have fallen out is that my best friend (male) who has a girlfriend told me he loved me and he now has finished with his girlfriend and we are now together. the problem is that he is 9 years older than me, im 16 and hes 25 and i know if i eventually told my family it would destroy them. i think i might be just hanging on to my boyfriend because i have no one else. i feel selfish. i do love him though as a friend but i don't think we could remain friends after this. what shall i do?

kellyO agony auntHi dearie,

I think it will be fair to let this guy know that you dont have any feelings for him other than that of a friend. You shouldnt try and hang on to him because you feel you have lost all your other friends. That wont be fair on him. I know you might loose his friendship if you tell him this but it is better to let him know now that to prolong this so that both of you can move on with your life. Also, i dont think you should loose your closeness with your family over a man you dont love.

What you need to do now is try to make room to create more friends and settle any problems you have with the old ones.Join school society clubs you are interested in and attend parties you are sure to meet new faces there.

Take care and goodluck.
