Hi Everyone, please help me. I can't afford to leave my partner. We rent a place together but he is never there and when he is there we argue. I can't stand it anymore, I have no family or friends to turn to. I don't wanna be with him anymore but I won't be able to afford my house on my own. What do I do?

Butterflyfly agony auntI agree with Polly try to get a flatshare. I live in London and have so many girlfriends who're happily sharing flats together. Are you working atm? why not get a job, that would help get you ot of your usual environment , meet new people, and help towards the bills. Or if you're working already and still can;t afford to rent a place (which is a bit unlikely), then maybe focus on getting better qualified, invest in doing a course that would improve your job prospects? just please don't despair, get the guts to plan ahead and get out of there, it's possible, you know, you just gotta get yourself together do some cool thinking, plan ahead, and follow up! good luck keep us posted if you wish so. xxx

A female reader, Polly Russell-Furse United Kingdom +, writes (10 August 2007):

Polly Russell-Furse agony auntThere are a couple of things you could do:

Look in your local paper for flat shares - there are often other girls in your position that want to share a flat or house with other girls.

The council or local housing association might be able to regester you as homeless and put you up in a bedsit or studio flat.

Hope this helps.
