 Its one of the many mysteries of the human body. I know girls who can`t orgasm from sex alone but can from everything else. So yeah its normal. You should try to guide him more verbally or physically when he is giving you oral and such. You obviously know what works for you but it is really hard for any guy to figure the girl out on there own with out atleast a little help.

 Girl, you're lucky! I'd love to be able to reach orgasm from intercourse! Don't worry about being normal, everyone works differently. You can learn to orgasm from different techniques. I recently found out how to orgasm with my boyfriend's hands, which is great as I'd only ever orgasmed through masturbating before then. So anything IS possible, just keep trying things out and you'll find what works for you. Try showing him what you do and get him to copy with his hands and tongue.Good luck.

 maybe your boyfriend isnt doing what you need to help you climax you know what spot you have to hit to reach an orgasm maybe its just harder for him to reach that spot but it is normal to only be able to climax during intercourse i cant reach an orgasm through oral
