writes:i broke up with my boyfriend about a week ago, as we kept having arguments about me not going to visit him enough. i am currently at university and only come home on weekends (he lives in my town)and during this time i try to see my family friends and him, but this was not enough for him, (he also has never come to visit me at my university). i broke up with him over the phone (not the way i wanted it to happen.) and afterwards he told me he loves me and will for a long time. now i don't know what to do, i miss him, but im worried if we get back together the arguments will start again, i don't even know if he wants to get back together, as i was supposed to go round and see him to talk about everything but he cancelled at the last minute without a reason. i really need some advice.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 November 2005): I would advice going to talk to him .. find out how he feels .. if he wants to get back together then you really need to explain to him how you are trying to give everyone some attention when you are home at weekends and you are trying your best to give him as much time as you can .. if he cant be with you like this then you need to stay split up.
