At 17 NO ONE is ready to settle down.
You don't have to tell him if it doesn't affect him. If you want to stay with him then he doesn't have to know. Your relationship may not last forever and once it is over then you can go out and meet a girl if you want to.
However, you should be open with him about your future together. What has given him the impression that you are ready to settle down? Change his impression. Talk about how you want to see the world / get a career / do things in life BEFORE settling down.
