Sweety Pie agony auntId just match the dress with the tie. You can get a really cool patterned purple tie, and then just a plain shirt, probs in white.. along with the black suit you'll look great :)

Do you think I should just match the tie to the dress or the shirt as well ? And im sure my GF is getting a purple dress. My friend and his GF are going and shes taking a red dress and hes wearing a red shirt and red and black tie. But I dont know if to just match the tie or both the shirt and tie ?

caddy_girl10 agony auntYou can get one at any flower shop, just go in and order one, I would do it a few days ahead of time so thr flower place will have time to make it :)

A female reader, Sweety Pie United Kingdom +, writes (13 October 2009):

Sweety Pie agony auntWell purple and red are pretty different, so when shes decided, ask her for a sample of her dress and get a matching tie.

BEWARE! There are many shades of purple and red, and you want to match! Men dont realise this...

Anyway, untill shes decided, all you need is a nice shirt, and a suite.

Maybe a plain blak suit would be best with puurple or red, because they are bold colours.

If your getting a patterned shirt, DONT get a patterned tie too. Its over kill. Oh and visa versa.

But tbh I wouldnt worry much, you'll look great :)

HAVE FUN!!!

Krissy_Captivate agony auntWear something dark, something light will only clash with what she's wearing, a black suit with a tie the same colour as the dress she's wearing? If you let her get the dress first, then confirm the colour you'd be able to get your tie last :) hope this helps
