Question - (23 June 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 23 June 2010)
A female Greece age 51-59, *di70 writes:

I have a relationship 6 years now. There was a time period, when we were separated, and I had a very short one night stand and since then it is 3 years.

Then after a few months time (3 years ago), I had pap test and it was normal.

After two years, I had gone to a new gynaecologist and had a new pap test where I found CIN1 (low-grade). Then the gynecologist told me to just watch it and visit him again every three months for another pap test, In one year I had three pap test and the last two were ok..

The first time a had a not normal pap test I had just passed a strong allergy and he wrote vitamins and recommended me to eat normally and to take care myself. Unfortunately, i still have fatigue, stress and poor nutrition, because of some situations in my work and my family.

A few days ago I hade a new pap test (4rth) and I and the doctor noticed a wart outside (another type of virus;), as a small white pimple, which directly the doctor had it into cauterization and gave me a ointment (Novaquasol) to put it 4-5 times a day and advise me to visit him in a week. The results of the new pap test have not come out yet ...

My questions are

1. From where I had catch it??

The boyfriend put a condom, but not from the beginning.

Did I catch it from the only time I had “one night stand”( I had put condom but not from the beginning). My impression, however, that incubation of the virus is up for some months and not years.

2. Could I get it from used towels, dirty bathroom, skin hand warts or something else;

3. Is it possible to have it my current partner and he do not know it; It has seen he says no pimples. I know it can be a carrier without any symptoms himself.

4. What process should I follow in the sexual act; From now on I have sex with condoms from the beginning, but can any hands or anything can not touch me without protection of latex??

5. I know that whenever I have external genital warts i would first have to heal them and then do anything with sex, because the condom does not shield all tha parts from the genital area. How long does after the therapy of HPV wart could I have sex;;

I am very disappointed! I fear that ultimately the best protection is abstinence.. ..Which I do not want even to think about....

I had 3 sex partners in my life, serious persons, without many ex-s… ….

Maybe I have to forget about sex ... and go to a monastery…??

A female reader, person12345 United States +, writes (23 June 2010):

person12345 agony auntYou can have the virus for years without symptoms. Your boyfriend could have given it to you even when you got together, as men who are carriers almost never show symptoms and therefore have no idea they got it. HPV spreads through skin on skin contact and like herpes, can be spread even when protection is used. I would assume you have already transmitted it to your partner, though he can get tested to find out for sure. It rarely affects men, but you should notify him. You should call your doctor for more specifics. Be wary of a doctor who suggests three pap smears a year. New studies suggest that pap smears can be a factor in causing cervical cancer, and it's now recommended women only get one every two years. I'd ask around with some other doctors.
