Modeling agencies have what they call "open castings". You want to call up these agencies (not modeling schools) and see when they have these. When you go, there will be a lot of other girls dressed up with a lot of makeup- don't do this. The scouts want to see a more natural look, like a clean pallet they can work with, so don't wear much makeup and don't ridiculously dress up. They will usually require you to bring some photographs (don't bring glamour shots or anything too contrived- think natural). They will usually take a look at all the girls and photos and group you into categories and you could be dismissed right away. They will ask you questions like why you want to model or be in fashion and your answers are important- sometimes they will dismiss you if your schedule is too hectic, like law or medical school, so your best bet is to answer that you are ambitious and want money. If you are selected, sometimes they will want you to pay for modeling school, don't do this- it's a waste of time. All that usually comes out of it is that they will set you up with auditions, like for an extra in a music video, or commercials. This is something you can do on your own- I did several commercials around your age and it wasn't through my agent so I dropped him because I had better success finding out in the newspaper when auditions were. One of my best friends also does modeling still today, and he sends in headshots (doesn't really get much out of that) but he does have success when he goes to TV auditions (he's been a soldier on the history channel, starred in episodes of psychic detectives and some other stuff). My cousin went this route and she started out in a Pepsi commercial, then to an extra in ER, and then to a Disney movie and now she is getting ready to star in a film. You won't get much visibility if you don't start auditioning. No modeling school can really get you there- they will teach you only how to apply makeup, walk on runway, stuff that you can learn later and will be payed to learn if someone thinks you have potential- don't pay to get these skills- it may not even be relevant. If you feel you would be a shoe-in for a certain commercial, even if you get rejected, still show up for the taping of it. I got one commercial this way. I was rejected initially because I just didn't stand out against the better looking models, so I showed up and started talking to the camera man and he put me in! Be creative, proactive, persistant, and don't let rejection stop you. Good luck!

The best way to get into glamour modelling is to look up online portfolios of girls who are already in the industry or who you admire and it will tell you who their agent is. Then contact them and send them pictures (remember they get hundreds of girls contacting them daily so might take a while to get back to you). It doesnt have to be glamour pictures, you can send them regular, clear full length and portrait pictures because if you are right for the industry they will be able to spot it straight away. There are so many con artists and people ready to rip you off that you should stick with people who have proved they can get you into the industry because they've managed it with other successful models.
