A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi whats masculinity, my girl friends dumped me because she says i'm not masculine enough. Now I resent talking about my feelings to her, I wasn't comfortable with it at the time and now I know why.

How can you increase your masculinity.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (9 May 2008):

It's true that women are primarily attracted to guys that can give them the feeling of being protected. For this reason, guys that are aggressive or physically large tend to get the girl, esp. in teenage years. As you grow older, your position in society, ability to earn a steady income and whether you have a house become factors that will give girls that protected feeling.

Yos agony auntRather than trying to modify yourself to be more 'masculine' because your ex-girlfriend said so, I suggest finding a girl who appreciates you for who you really are. Talking about your feelings is a great thing to do and many many girls out there will love it and love you for it. It's a healthy trait and something that should be encouraged, not repressed.
