 Take a typical averagely loaded women's handbag, slip the handles over your erect dick. If you can hold it in place for at least a count of 25 seconds then you are good to go. If it flops off then you may have stiffy related issues.

 By the "grip" do you mean how tightly it's connected to you? Because it should be able to move around fairly easily. If it stayed in only one spot you would be really limited on positions you could do without hurting your partner. So, as long as the shaft is hard you're good to go!
