Are you going on to higher ed when you graduate ?

If so make sure you go to a mixed sex place.

Meanwhile do what others suggest in terms of activities where both sexes participate but also use your time at junior coll to cultivate your mind and your body ..... that way you can have self confidence that any girls you meet in the future will have reasons to want to get to know you....

LaurenxConstance agony auntIt will take you some time to find someone who is everything you want. The only way to find one is by going out and trying. Everyone gets rejected but you cant find one if you dont try. Sometimes it may seem impossible but with a little motivation, and time to yourself and bettering your outlook and broadening your sorroundings, you may find someone quicker than you think... Another thing: don't over-evaluate. You may not find that model or perfect body girl that most guys think all girls seem to be..that is far from the truth for most REAL and productive women. Just be yourself and you will find someone who shares your interests and really wants to be with you. It just takes a long time normally, to find that person. You may go on a few bad dates, but just be yourself. If your not whole for you, no one is going to want to commit to someone who doesnt like who they are...trust me. I am female and know how hard it is to find someone to share everything with...Its very difficult. But just try...=]

jemmahardy agony aunt"Iamheretohelpyou" is right! You just don't want to get a girlfriend because everybody else is. She has to be somebody that you really really like! If you don't get to meet girls go to social events with your guy mates, meet girls in your college classes, go to mixed sports teams etc! Put yourself out there :) If you lack in confidence just think to yourself, what have you got to lose? Put yourself out there, and you'll do great! Girls aren't some weird alien, we're just like you! Just play it cool and try make her laugh, we like goofyness! I'm 18 and only just got my first boyfriend and i'm so so so glad i waited for the right person :) I find that when your when your not looking, an amazing person suddenly pops up in your life :) Hope this helps and good luck!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 December 2011):

Don't worry about getting a girlfriend. To meet people, join a club or something.

Having a girlfriend will happen in time; don't rush it or you won't actually like someone.
