How do I avoid my ex taking custody of my kids again?

A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

i had an ex who put an ad in the paper and got custody of my kids while i was locked up. She had my kids stealin,prostituting,welfare fraud my kids got caught with her and another lady so facts intervened my mom was awarded custody of them

my kids are not allowed to be around the other person they have records of all the shoplifting they been doin so my question is:

my mom just passed away and now the other person says she is gonna get custody of my girls back what rights do i have and is this possible, can she take my kids away from me again?

If this 'other person' is no relation to you or your children then she has no rights at all.

As the mother of your children has already shown she is not able to care for your children responsibly, there is a good chance you will be awarded custody (assuming your conviction was for a minor offence)

I suggest you contact a solicitor and talk your situation through.
