yes you might be below the legal age and so your mum might want you to think against it but, she should feel proud that are want to talk to her about these things. just sit down with her and be honest, at the end of the day, she's your mum and mums are always willing to listen :)

tennisstar88 agony auntWhy do you want birth control? I applaud you for being responsible, however you are under the age of legal consent to sex/sexual activity in UK. It's 16, so it's illegal for you to have any kind of sex. I suggest waiting till you are of age which is 16, then telling your mother you need birth control.

despite you being so young, you sound smart to think of birth control as opposed to nothing. I went on the pill at 14 and did not tell my mum. she still has no idea 3 years later (i am with the same boy). Just don't rush into anything and if you are close with your mum talk to her. if you have older sisters maybe ask them? x
