How can I talk to her without seeming desperate or paranoid?

A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have a little problem. I have a friend and lately I have not been able to get in contact with her in a while. The last time we spoke was through a text message in which I was a bit angry at her (the reason being a friend of hers was laughing at me because I got my friend an xmas present and she joined in, this was over a social network site so I saw it rather clearly) I did get a text back from her asking me why I was mad and I told her about what she said and since then Ive had nothing back. I know she generally takes a while to text back but its been a week now and she hasnt replied to a single thing I've said and she hasnt appeared online either. I'm a little worried that maybe telling her I was offended by what her and her friend did was a bit too serious and she might be trying to ignore me now. So is there anyone I can talk to her without seeming desperate or paranoid?

Vow, this is tricky and could be a little difficult, but I think you should just send her a text message asking something like "hey, I have not heard from you recently, are you okay?". You will have to monitor her response very carefully and if there is no response from her, I suggest you just back off completely and let her be.

Good luck and keep us posted.
