Does anyone else go through this? It's driving me crazy

Case senario: I was buying something and the clerk asked me for my CVS membership card, and I said "can I give you my phone number"? Obviously I wasn't thinking when I said that, and he started flirting: "Oh you're giving me your phone number, hah, should I give you mine?"

So the atmosphere got uncomfortable for me because I have a boyfriend and I wasn't attracted to this guy, so I just said "sure you can" and made some weird gestures, and he didn't seem to understand me, so he asked me "what?" and I repeated, and he didn't understand again, so I backed out, but he kept asking...and so I left without answering, and feeling awkward.

These things happen to me all the time. If someone says something I don't understand, I'll reply "yes" or "no" and they'll look at me with a puzzled face and I'll pretend not to notice, and then I'll feel awkward.

I beat myself over these moments so much, and feel like a complete idiot. It's not like I'm inarticulate...how can I relax?

Yetilicious agony auntHaha, you sound like my mom. The same things happen to her all the time. Just try to remember to think before you speak, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's who you are and I'm sure there are many people who are going to love this little "quirk" about you.

situations that make you uncomfortable will happen all the time... one way or another.. it happens to all of us. no one is perfect. feel good about yourself even when in the situation you mentioned. someone cute can make you stumble words and actions... just laugh at life and what it give you. makes things easier.

cupidus agony auntI have to ask

Do you think deep down in your subconscious that you are doing these things because you want to date other people?

Do you think that maybe you feel to young to be in a committed RS?
