How can I help my friend not feel so guilty?

Question - (6 November 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 6 November 2008)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

One of my very close friends is down lately, because after she broke up with her girlfriend (she is lesbian) her ex tried to kill herself.

What can I say to her to relieve some of her guilt and help her through this tough time?

I always find it hard to talk to someone if I can't relate to the problem, but she really needs some help!

yum yum agony auntWell I think you can say to her gently that you are there for her if she needs any moral support. Tell her that its natural that she feels guilty but its however not her folt.

The girl decided to try and commit suicide herself nobody advised her. She just could not handel the stress and your friend was not aware that she would try and commit suicide.
