Me and my bf have been together for over 6months we are really close and in love but every now and then he will just turn funny on me and always apoligies and says why am i still with him because he thinks hes a complete idiot for the mood changes.

I just really want to know what might be causing them? He definatly doesn't feel maybe he doesn't love me anymore or is doubting our relationship because he's the kind of guy who who would say straight away and hes really obsessed with me (in a nice way!) when hes not in the funny mood.

A female reader, AngelofLove United Kingdom +, writes (29 November 2006):

AngelofLove agony auntHe is suffering from paranoia, low self esteem and depression. I suspect that something must have happen throughout his life to make him feel this way.

Netherless, he must seek help to avoid hurting you and himself. You can help by discussing this with him, being supportive by being there for him and reassure him A LOT that you are with him for the right reasons.

My husband is the sweetest man you can ever meet but the most sensitive aswell. We have been together for five years and he is still needs reassurance once a day, in the beginning his self esteem would trigger paranoia up to five times a day. So it does get better and recovery process varies from person to person.

First step is to get communication flowing, recognizing that you may have to work at it every day and ALWAYS RESPECT ONE ANTOHER AND EACH OTHER. Hugs to you both
