You don't need his permission, just do it when the moment is right. He might just not feel right asking you and since you want to do it, why not take charge? He might actually enjoy being seduced.

Men see women in different ways. To a lot of them you are either and angel, or a whore. That's why they lose all respect if you sleep with them too early on etc etc etc.
If your boyfriend sees you as an angel, as girl who he loves and thinks is wonderful in every way, then he might not want to think about you in the same way as some sleazy strip tease. But then as you say, he really let go in the bedroom when he was able to stop seeing you like that.
Modern women have to be both angel and whore to keep a man but the trick is keeping the balance right, and keeping the mystery.
Don't ask him if he wants you to do it. Because he's looking in to your eyes and you are in angel form. Just invite him round for a romantic meal, flirt, light some candles and surprise him.
