 His relationship will end sooner or later. Considering his GF is trying to control him, and he tells you he loves you, it will probably be sooner. If you are willing to risk losing him as your best friend, you could have a successful love relationship. But beware, if he cheated on this girl (with you or anyone) he will most likely cheat again, even if he does love you. And if you break up badly, you may lose him as a friend! Good luck.

 I'm confused as to why you two can't be together. It sounds like you mean alot to him. If the gf isn't letting him talk to you he will get fed up and choose between the two of you. She probably sees you as a threat to their relationship so thats why she's so controlling.
Just keep talking to him when ever you feel like it and he will do the rest.
I hope you two can find away to both be happy.
