maxsteel86 agony auntYou'll get used to the place I'm sure. When I moved to Demver, I settled in real fast, the place was just amazing! You'll eventually start thinking of Australia as your home. Six months isn't that much of a long time to get used to a place, you need more time I think.

Find some good friends to hang out with and it should help you to settle in and definitely get to know your neighborhood (not the people so much as the place). Eventually you'll feel like the place is as much yours as your old place was!

And if that doesn't help, guess you could try swim back:-P

ya know jen...im from australia myself but am now in england. Have been here for the last 5 years. Initially it was really hard, being distant from mates back home (that was the hardest thing to do in my opinion and knowing I will have to get new friends), going to school in a new environment, and a different accent. It took me about a year and a bit before I actually got to really settle in, although i still missed my mates back home. I kept telling myself that I will go back to australia every year for holidays, which of course i didnt, but i still went back every now and then. I still have a slight aussie twang to my accent and i dont think i will ever lose it, maybe another 5 years...lol, but bottom line is, just give yourself some time to adjust. Getting new mates really really help, especially when you get close to a really good mate, then youll notice youre not thinking about home that very often anymore. Hope you will be ok!
