This is kind of a funny question but why do men like to smell women's hair? Is a womens scent attracting to a man? I know that everybody likes someone to smell good but is this like a sign of beauty?

Danielepew agony auntAs Finn McCool said, many people have their particular scents. Sometimes these scents smell "good" to you, and add to the attraction you might feel.

Uncle Sneaker agony auntSmelling hair? Yeah. Monkeys do that too. Maybe it's just some primaeval instinct.

And what is it about a woman that makes us want them? That's fairly basic too. They're female. It's as simple as that.

That clean fresh smell is pleasant. Dirty hair smelling of tobacco smoke is a switch off. Goes with beauty.

Collaroy agony auntSmell is not so important for me. As long as it is pleasant but not overbearring. I can't stand a girl who covers herself in cheap scented perfume, its just tacky.

The same goes with makeup, I can never see the point in piling on the war paint either. A discreet bit of lipstick and eyeliner if need be is more than enough when going out.

If I am being honest, a nice curvy figure drives me crazy!! ( oops..did I just say that out loud?)

A reader, anonymous, writes (4 July 2008):

Each individual woman has their own scent. Firstly, the artificial variety, be it the type of shampoo/ soap/ deodorant/ makeup etc. that they habitually use. Then there is the natural scent. There again, every woman is different from every other in that respect. Some have a very faint scent, on others it is much stronger.

Y'know, the sense of smell plays a much bigger role in attractions than we all realise and yes, how a woman smells is dominant in deciding if a guy is attracted to her or not. I imagine the same goes for the other way around.

What drives me crazy? All the little things like the way she giggles, pulls facial expressions, what and how she talks - and walks even! All these little things definitely do it for me!

q1605 agony auntas far as scent.its like smelling a pastry right out of the oven. You don't know if you would like to eat it in one big bite or savor it bit by bit. But you know its all for you and whatever happens you will get to eat all of it.It also shows that they cleaned up before you got together. Maybe shaved their legs. We know what that means don't we boys.
