 Well, it's not technically a spooning position, as you aren't on your side, but have you tried her being flat on her stomach and you entering from behind that way? You can lay on her and just prop yourself up with your arms, it's like a backwards hug in a way. It also allows you to whisper into her ear or kiss her cheek. It can be a very sweet and intimate position.
And I know this isn't true for all women, but I think that position feels great!

I could be wrong but isn't spooning more about being close to and holding each other? What I know as spooning has nothing to do with the penis.
