he just wants sex and knows this is how to get you to put out.

 If he's telling you that he wants to marry you, I don't think it sounds like he's just in it for sex. If you want to find out for sure, make him wait for it, just date him for about 2-3 months or as long as you feel like until you think he's being genuine and wants a relationship and not just sex.
If he can't wait as long as you need to, then his interest will decline and it'll be obvious that he just wanted to use you.
