writes:I have been really good friends with a guy for a year now - I broke up wiith my partner at christmas and he became my best friend - this has been going on for a year now until we both moved away in which time we have still stayed really great friends.He came down this weekend and we had sex now he has a girlfriend of 6 years that i have never met, now while we were friends he used to complain about her and stuff but i never really thought much of it and told him to go and talk to her, I have always really liked this guy since I met him but because of his situation never really thought anyhthing of it and so was happy to continue on as we were coz hes a really great guy.No we are still friends and he texts me and stuff and wants to come see me next month, and he said that hes wanted to get with me for ages. I thought we had a really close friendship just coz we like each other but now im wondering whether it was all just to get into my knickers.And also if he likes me so much why is he still with his girlfriend, who from apart from his compaining seems like a really nice person - i'm not really sure where i stand anymore or what is expected of me in this situation and whether im being a really horrible person. I utterly adore this guy and have for a very long time and its only since i started dating again thats hes openly shown this interest.I am being silly nd carry on or should i stop before it ruins this briiliant friendship that we have and which i value more than fucking him any day?

He is still with his missus and still telling me he loves me. As far as I am concerned though I'm moving on and trying to see other people, luckily we are still good friends and I hope always will be.Cheers for you advice and I really like you columns. X

reader, anonymous, writes (10 November 2010): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionHi - thankyou for your response honest ad to the point - I like it lol. Well I am still Seeing this guy and I like him moe than ever - genuinly - and he says he feels the same way about me.
I mean both of us seem to be playing it quite low key like "I really like you at the moment" sort of thing - and we talk alot about everything about me.
But this is the part that bothers me slightly - he never talks about his gf or anything - not that I want all the gory details or anything - just more like why he's still with her when he wants to be single, (I mean I'm not eve saying that he wants to be with me), but it feel as though we are dating but the fact is it can't go any further than it already has done because he is currently involved.
So I guess what I'm trying to ask is why won't he tell me what's going on inside his head when I'm being so open about what's in mine?
