TasteofIndia agony auntDoes it hurt... yeah, it hurts. But, I've found that it hurts only while it's being pulled off. And then, the pain is gone. So it's not this pain that lasts for hours. It's pretty instant.

But that is just ME. Go to a good... no, excellent waxer. A bad waxer... *shudder*. Don't take your chances. And take a Tylenol a half hour prior to your appointment.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (25 September 2010):

I've had a normal wax (just to tidy the edges!) and that is pretty painful. I would imagine the first time will be painful but quick - get someone to recommend a practitioner. After that it should get easier. I heard that taking a standard painkiller about an hour prior can help.

Aunty BimBim agony auntI've never had a brazilian but I do get my brows waxed often and I did have my upper lip waxed once, and based on those experiences I would not be expecting having pubic hair pulled out by the roots to be a walk in the park.

But thats just me .... you might have a higher tollerance of pain level
