Mod Note:Posters Title was not available

I just broke up with my boyfriend of four years and I already feel horrible. I've been waiting for him to get his act together for years; he was a high achiever when he was younger and now he's stuck in a rut. This was part of why we broke up, I feel like we aren't in a relationship of a equals though because I seem to be growing up faster than he is.

I don't know what to do, we don't really see eye to eye on certain things but I still love him. Do you think I've made a mistake? He's the only guy I've ever been with so I don't exactly have much experience with how you're supposed to feel after such an event.

It's very, very difficult to deal with a person who is stuck in a rut, especially when you have little life experience to help you get through it. You're still young, and to deal with a person who isn't moving forward is not something you should have to do. There will come a time in the future when this is something that you will deal with, but not at this time. You made the right decision for your life at the moment, and you should be out there having fun with friends, focusing on your own life and such.
