Do I trust my instincts? Or my friend?

Question - (10 December 2008) 3 Answers - (Newest, 10 December 2008)
A male Germany age 30-35, *va-Genesis writes:

I am currently very attracted to a girl, she seems almost too good to be true. According to my friend, who is best friends with her, she is psyched about me liking her. When I talk to her she seems a bit dry. Not much to say in the conversation. I've told her how I feel but she seems to go around the subject and answer, or comment a side bar.

I'm lost wondering if she does like me like my friend claims, or i'm just building up false hope.

I really need help. My instincts, or my friend?

The Gentle Man agony auntTell your friend that you have approached her and she wasnt interested, now you are not going to do anything about it unless she gives a positive sign. This will by magic find its way to the girl and one of the following will happen:

1. The girl will give a sign

2. The girl wont give a sign, in which case there is the answer. No, shes not interested

3. Your friend (once spoken to the girl) will relay that she is defanately interested. In which case you need to be alone with the girl and just ask her out straight up.

You talk to her and she doesn't respond. Whatever the reason, that is the stubborn fact. Act on the basis of facts.
