DoubleM agony auntAny excessive odor is a good indication that your vaginal environment is either out-of-balance, or evidence of infection, most notably vaginitis (a yeast infection). Simply taking antibiotics may cause it, and a doctor visit is advisable. But as "satidesire" noted, girls do not emit pre-cum; girls exude vaginal lubricant when aroused, which helps facilitate more comfortable intercourse.

A female reader, satindesire United States +, writes (28 October 2009):

satindesire agony auntThe street or slang term "precum" is another word for "pre-ejaculate" which is the fluid that leaks out of a man's penis when he is aroused. No, women do not have pre-ejaculate because we do not ejaculate the same way a man does. The 'wetness' you feel is a woman's normal aroused vaginal fluids.

The moisture a woman's vagina secrets on a daily basis is normal as well. The vagina is a self-cleaning organ and must maintain a level pH balance and growth of good bacteria and organisms that keeps the vagina healthy. Every woman secrets some discharge, but if you notice that yours has changed in some way, such as turning a different consistency, changing color, or producing an 'off' smell, then your next step would be to visit your OBGYN for an exam. You may have an STD or infection and they can check you and help you out.
