I want to go on a diet because I want to be a model catwalk or glamour. I am not fat but you know what the industry's like now, you have to be really skinny.. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do or a diet plan I could follow? It would be greatly accepted. Thank you I am age 16

georgiexx agony aunti think glamour/underwear is better suited for your body shape then, catwalk girls are chosen as they are the best shape to show clothing off... you may get some interest about catwalk through an agency, so if you are really serious about modeling start working on your profile within your agency, i'm assuming you've got one... if not thats probably a good place to get started, a reputable agency will boost your oppotunities

georgiexx agony auntFrom having contacts in the industry i believe the minimum height is around 5'8 and at that height they look for people who weigh around 7.8 stone, however this would vary dependant on what type of modeling you decide to do. Glamour girls tend to be shorter and slightly curvier as this photographs better wheras catwalk models are usual taller and need to be quite tiny to carry off some of the outfits. Also i would have thought that requirements would vary depending on your agency and the client. Be careful though, the modeling industry is really hard to get into and your career is likely to last only a few years. xx

there is a difference between being a glamour model and a catwalk girl... i do catwalk and would never be able to do any glamour work, your bodyshape has to be completely different... glamour models do not need to be as thin, as some curves often photograph better for glamour work. its a really tough industry but fabulous if you actually get into it.

Think you are a fool for wanting this. Damaging a body for your career that may not work is daft.

Go and talk to a doctor \ nutrionist and explain why you want to loose weight and how much, they will set up a plan for you.

what you eat and what you put on weight with is a balance, if you eat and don't burn it off you put on weight. if you exercise and don't eat as much you loose weight.

staindesire's advice is right, i would only add take vitamins - these are missing in most modern diets and eat lots of fruit and veg (the 5 a day thing) its jam packed full of energy that burns in your body quickly (that's a generalisation on the fruit i will leave you to find the best ones)

The industry is changing, being a stick is not so good. i also think you should look at this post at what females people like...

- most don't like sticks.

bobbles32 agony auntI think you should be content with the way you are if you're healthy. Diets are supposed to manage health, which in turn can make you lose weight. Stop trying to live up to someone else's standards, if you're good at modelling, you'll be one.
