Question - (27 December 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 28 January 2009)
A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

i've known this guy as a friend for years but we never really got to know each other well but i do kinda like him (our group of friends know each other though). Recently he sent a text asking me to meet him away from our group of friends and i like a fool without carefully reading his sms properly the first time, thought he was just asking to meet up, and replied "sure i'm going out with a few of my friends on Thursday, come join us? (these are friends different from the ones we both know mutually)" he replied back saying he would join us but on thursday he didnt show up and he didn't even let me know he wasn't coming. What's going on here, is he playing mind games with me?

A female reader, didda123 United Kingdom +, writes (28 January 2009):

didda123 agony auntI think he has took the fact that you wanted him to meet you with a group of friends as you were trying to brush him off as boyfriend material so he is probably feeling a bit down because he thinks you don't like him like that. He obviously likes you and wanted to spend some time alone with you.

He will probably come around but i think you should send him a text just apologizing for the misunderstanding and say you have been wondering why he never showed up and you have looked at the text again and you had misinterpreted it (which is easy to do) say that you would love to meet up sometime if he is still keen.

I am sure by you doing that you will make his day.

Good Luck x
